The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing and disruptive company as one of the first few members of the engineering team.  You’ll channel your passion for development and your ability to work in a fast-paced, agile, and team oriented environment into creating and implementing a platform that is revolutionizing the international trade industry.

Day to Day Impact

  • Both autonomously and with other team members, implement major features and small fixes
  • Write tests against business requirements for all features implemented and bugs fixed
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to seek clarity on features
  • Constructively participate in reviewing peer’s code as well as being open to review of your own
  • Adhere to and contribute to coding standards
  • Participate in daily standups and weekly story time meetings
  • Design and architect solutions to business problems/pain points
  • Stay current on the latest industry best practices

You’ll Be Successful Because

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with object oriented software development
  • 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with Postgres and/or MySQL
  • RESTful API designs and implementations
  • Familiarity with Heroku/AWS or other cloud platform
  • Understanding of front-end technology, such as JS, React or other frameworks, HTML, and CSS
  • A believer in test-driven development, ability to test own code, and writing reusable code
  • Experience with version control using Git, pull request workflow, and continuous integration
  • Open to feedback, self-aware, and continuous learner
