Freight forwarders often ask about Fleet's customers: Who are they? How are they different from other shippers? Are their businesses verified?, etc. These videos (with transcript right below) will help you understand Fleet's customers better and why they are great potential business partners for freight forwarders.
Who are the customers on Fleet? Shippers who look for better international logistics services.
So who are the customers on Fleet? The customers on Fleet are all small and medium sized businesses doing between 1 and 20 shipments each month. They’re more experienced than a first time shipper, but they don’t quite have the savvy of a huge high volume shipper. Basically they are all coming to Fleet looking for better international logistics services. We chose these small and medium sized businesses as our customers for a few reasons.
First of all, they tend to be higher margin customers for you as a freight forwarder. Second, they are more expensive to contact, sell, and close. We know that one sales call alone can start at one hundred dollars to train somebody and get them to close that business for you. Third, these businesses are less sophisticated, savvy, and experienced with international shipping compared to like a high volume shipper. And lastly, they have a tough time finding a good, reliable freight forwarder. More often than not, these people have just taken the first forwarder that has paid attention to them.
How do I know if these customers are verified?
How do you know if the customers are real? How do you know they are who they say they are? We've made sure the customers are real businesses who are shipping internationally before you ever see a quote request from them. We do this by verifying their names, their identity, their email address, their website, their business email address; we even call them, reach out directly to confirm their legitimacy and identity. Are the air shipments are TSA verified? I get this a question a lot. Once the customer accepts your quote, you will need to verify this on your own. However, if you find for any reason they are unverifiable, they don't pass the TSA security check, please let us know and we will handle that customer appropriately.
What if the customer bails?
What if the customer bails? Are you going to be charged for those credits? There’s two circumstances where your fleet credits will be refunded. First, if the customer does not view your quote, you’re not charged anything. And second, if the customer or the shipment is found to be illegitimate or not real for any reason, we’ll refund your credits without a second thought.
